You’ve seen him many times on our World Cup Live Stream. He’s always there – ready to answer questions, to help other players and to reply to opponents’ threats. At the same time he’s always there for his team, too – to watch over key Brazilian accounts and represent the whole crew (and nation) in front of the world. This is what he did during the Imperia Online World Cup tournament and this is exactly the attitude that forges players into World Champions.
His name is Jhon Carrasco and he’s a vital part of the Brazilian national team – the 2014 IO World Champion!
Balancing the World Cup and his personal life proved to be a tough job, but he did manage to handle it perfectly. The 22-years old player has his education to think of as well. He studies Civil Engineering which – of course – requires a lot of time and focus. However, his sleepless nights in the last two months were devoted to the online tournament.
Jhon admits his parents don’t agree with the amount of time he spends in ‘The world that never sleeps’, but he is certain this is the only way one becomes a World Champion. His friends, on the other hand, are more than fine with his hobby since most of them are IO players as well. It was a friend, in fact, that introduced Jhon to Imperia Online more than 4 years ago.
Not all of his friends were read to join the grand fight that the World Cup proved to be. It was obvious by Brazil’s play that noone was there by accident. This is pretty much how Jhon explains their clean victory: “Here in Brazil we had a very strong and united group, because most of the players already knew each other, then we draw a strategy that we follow from the very beginning.”
This said, it doesn’t come as a surprise that his main advice to Champion-wannabies is to keep in mind “nothing is gained alone”. He is certain the win is a reault of great team play. “The main step is to arrange a good team, a team that plays together”, the young player says.
